About
The increasing use of graphic design as a purely commercial tool is devaluing it's currency. The big design groups, and the big buyers of design talk about 'difference', but they really mean sameness: everything looks the same. It means that design is becoming a visual sandwich-spread, and the result is blandness, uniformity and timidity. And paradoxically this is being done at a time when interest in visual culture has reached a high point.
