Description of the organization and its target audience
- We sell interactive detective crime stories on Amazon.
- The player buys an envelope that contains several physical hints about a murder case, like pictures, business cards, newspapers, etc. Also, players can interact with non-physical hints such as websites or phone numbers. Using these clues, they can interactively investigate who the murderer is.
- The game lasts for around 2 hours and targets groups of 2-5 people aged 18-35 (though some families play it too). The game is mainly played on an evening of the weekend for entertainment.

Description
Front:
The optimal design:
- Catches the viewers' attention on Amazon, just like a book.
Looks good as a thumbnail and in full print size (229mm x 324 mm).
- Signals to the customer that it is a crime/detective game about art, medicine, and murder.
- Makes clear it belongs to a series of games published by our brand. It achieves this by sticking to a uniform style defined by a game we already published (see attachments)
Top half:
- Change the primary color from red to another color of your choice to indicate it is a different episode than "Tonstudio".
"Tatort" remains, while the title changes from "Tonstudio" (music studio) to "Kunstfehler".
- "Kunstfehler" is a wordplay that translates to malpractice (as in mistreatment by a doctor) and "art forgery". The story is about an art exhibition where an art dealer and a plastic surgeon die mysteriously (due to poison as the players have to find out).
Bottom half:
- This part of the cover should create tension and symbolize the story's content.
- For example, in the reference picture of the previous episode, "Tonstudio", revolving around a music producer killed by a knife, you see a knife inside a vinyl record.
- Please adapt this to the theme of the current episode (art, medicine, murder). The number of details and color palette should be kept simple, as in the example.
- If the number 1 appears subtly on the cover, i.e., in the signature of a painting, this is a bonus. In "Tonstudio" for example, a "2" appears.
Back:
The optimal design:
- Features gameplay instructions
- Gives a short case description
- Has our imprint and two barcodes for amazon.
- We are happy with sticking to the current design. Still, feel free to make creative suggestions.
Top part:
- Change the primary color from red to the new primary color of the front page.
- Exchange texts and QR codes (will be provided in the second round).
Bottom part:
- Adapt this according to your new design of the front bottom part.
Exchange the bar codes (will be provided in the second round).
Additional information:
- The envelope's measurements are 229mm x 324mm (german C4 size).
- The envelope is flat, so it does not have side walls, only front and back.
- Folding margins should be respected, meaning there should not be text outside the inner red line markings. See the resources for a template.
- The editable source pdf was too large to be uploaded to 99designs, so only the print version is attached in the briefing. Please see the editable file in google drive.
- You will find the mentioned resources in this folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/fold…HuROuyjjZq

Other notes
- Please focus your efforts 70/30 on front/backside since the back page does not face the customer and does not have to be styled fancy.
- Feel free to submit multiple ideas.
- We plan to launch two more cases in the coming year, so if we are happy with your work, there might be more jobs down the line.
