DoWell tiene dos significados. El acrónimo obvio en inglés "Do Well" y además es una contracción de los apellidos de dos personajes de ciencia ficción: Donovan y Powell. En el universo de robots de Asimov, estos personajes se encargaban de resolver problemas de alta complejidad y siempre resultaban exitosos.
