Description
PostgreSQL is an open-source software that has been developed by the global community of developers. To mark this (version 15) release of the software and to thank its contributors the PostgreSQL community will issue a number of marketing materials to accompany the release.
Sizes, formats and artwork usage:
We are looking for a fresh design, something different than previously used artwork (https://wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/Artwork), that can be applied to multiple mediums, such as:
Given the range of sizes, we are hoping for a design that can be used as a whole on larger mediums (i.e. poster) or in parts on smaller mediums (i.e. stickers, coins).
Context:
PostgreSQL's logo is an elephant (https://wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/Logo) but this specific logo is not required to be incorporated into the artwork yet we are looking to take this identity and build upon it to create artwork for this particular release of the software.
We are looking for designs that incorporate:
* elephant(s)
* the number 15
* a creative interpretation of a homonym of popular database terminology (details below)
Version 15 has some key elements that further advance the existing software that we would like to highlight:
* faster sorting speed
* additional support for compression (zstd, lz4)
* row and column filtering (for logical replication)
* SQL MERGE command
* Increased SQL/JSON support
Here are some database terms that ideas may be taken from:
* Bag
* Blob
* JSON (Jays on ...)
* Cloud
* Cube
* Drill down
* Forms
* Graph
* Grid
* Index (Bitmap, Hash, Inverted, or Lossy)
* Keys
* Logs
* Pools
* Snowflake
* Stars
* Table
* Warehouse
Please review the previous artworks, as we are looking for concepts that are different from those previously used.
Please be sure to review the entire brief. Thanks and good luck!
