Book description
Reflections of Love will help women learn how to fit healthy habits and faith into their busy lives, so they can make positive changes and learn to appreciate their progress along the way. A woman can often feel caught in the middle as she tries to embark on a new health and wellness journey. She feels ugly and ashamed as she compares herself to fitness personalities and at the same time secretly repulsed by the unhealthy attitudes our society has adapted as normal. She may have received “the talk” from her doctor that her test scores are borderline and prescription drugs are inevitable. She receives little guidance, but she wants to feel good again! She has tried every diet, workout, and supplement she can get her hands on!! She loses weight and then gains it back again because she is too busy to keep up with the rigor of fad diets and her middle aged body can’t recover from 90-minute cardio sessions the way it used to! She wants to be active and healthy for her family, to feel strong and confident at her job, and she just wants to look in the mirror and feel proud and beautiful. As a coach, the author was able to interact with women on opposite ends of the fitness spectrum. Kim watched some people change for the better in their overall health, while others would get frustrated when they focused too much on the scale. Many would try to trick their bodies into quicker weight loss by restricting calories or over-exercising. Their bodies and spirits often suffered because their methods were lonely and unsustainable. Kim is a certified personal trainer, a Precision Nutrition Level I & II certified nutritionist and a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition’s Holistic Health Coach Program. Most importantly, the author is a middle-aged woman who has looked in the mirror and felt unhappy. She has developed a nonsense-free plan to living a sustainably healthy life.
