TPSeager got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Morozko Forge Antifragility Hyrda Curve Ice Bath Logo
Check out TPSeager's Logo design contest…
Morozoko Forge produces ice baths for cold water immersion--for example, for use in the Wim Hof method to breathing and cold therapy. The ice bath works by leveraging the bather's natural antifragility. Like the ancient mythical water beast the Hydra, which grows two new heads every time one is cut off, the bather becomes stronger as a result of exposure to stress and pain. We're seeking a logo that illustrates growth from stress and trauma. This graph is a metaphor for the process https://goo.gl/images/i1oHTp in it, the x-axis is the water line. Underneath the ice water there is pain. Emerging from the water is the neck and fearsome head of the Hydra, in the shape of an exponential growth curve. We imagine three different curves: steep, less steep, and long term. The steep might level out to form an "S" while the others bend up. The represent the three paths to continuous growth, and each is a Hydra head. When one growth path discontinues, two more begin. We want a logo that illustrate this metaphor.
The logo must work in black and white. Color versions should emphasize green an light blue colors. It must be simple enough to paint on a sheet of plywood and fit the shipping crate aesthetic of the bath. I have chosen Katypet's logo twice in totally different contests in absolutely the most massively different of sectors. She was a clear winner against dozens of other designers, not just because her designs are so unique, beautiful, inspiring and creative but because she communicates fast, endlessly and shows enthusiasm and a desire to make a logo the best it can be. Next time I will go direct and not run a contest; she's got my next project nailed I'm sure.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
