2. All of our featured foods have been eaten, reviewed, and certified by professional HOH tasters.
3. To be featured an item must be spicy AND genuinely taste great.
4. We are a sort of cultural center for people who identify as hot food lovers where we will have information, activities, and events that allow them to connect in a more meaningful way with this part of their identity and the larger hot food lovin’ community.
Hot heads! These are people who are hot, spicy food lovers. They love the burn, but care about great tasting food. They take a flavor over fire approach to their food choices. They are adventurous by nature. They like to take risks. They actively seek new sensations. They stand on the edge of high places. They watch thrilling movies. They don’t shy away from public speaking. They go for the intimidating ski jump because they want to see what happens.
These are people of all walks of life. There’s no telling who’s a hot, spicy food lover just by looking at them. They do tend to skew male (70/30). They tend to be more brand loyal than their non-spicy-loving counterparts – which suggests/supports the idea that they are passionate about certain products (see: Siracha craze)
NOTE: Given the above, the temptation might be to go in the direction of a lot of the hot food brands and be very in-your-face about the “hot”. That would be expected. But we’re not expected. We’re clever. We’re different. We’re going to make you think. So I’d like to be a bit more subtle than that. These people are passionate about this stuff and therefore don’t need the brand to shout HOT HOT HOT at them. Our passion can be communicated subtly and further through our attention to details, craft, artistry, and idea.
