buttonbrookfarm.ca got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Help an old family farm re-launch!

We are a seventh generation family farm that is being re-imagined. Our family has been on this land in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley since 1833. Lively little Button Brook flows down through our patch of forest from the mountain to the valley, where our fields, old house and glass greenhouses are nestled near the lazy, winding river. Button Brook Farm (buttonbrookfarm.ca) has just begun organic vegetable production in 2020, with a focus on salad greens. We are presently Certified Naturally Grown, but we may become Certified Organic in the future. Our business vision is cultivating local prosperity.
See https://pin.it/bTRIYcS for examples of inspiration. We gravitate towards minimalistic designs. Why? While we have roots in an old family farm, we are re-emerging as a modern operation with big goals, including both direct-to-consumer marketing in person and online, and a line of wholesale products. Therefore, the farm's logo needs to work on a wide range of physical and digital platforms: a routered wooden sign for the property; stamped or burned wooden crates; an embroidered badge; t-shirts; a laser-cut vinyl sticker on our (currently red) truck; website and social medial; thermal b/w labels (crucial, and these are not very high-res); business cards; invoices; documents. In other words, it has to be simple and stark and work in black and white (or white on black) so that it can be used anywhere. The design should incorporate an icon that is completely unique. It must be able stand alone, for example, as a favicon and on socials, as well as translate on product labels with b/w thermal printing. Ideally, the icons would reference the brook (think branching and flowing), albeit subtly or abstractly. We are mostly drawn to stamp-like designs as they often seem to fit the above criteria. The attached examples are ideas we've iterated through using free online tools and icons.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at €269.
