Excellent experience! The breadth of designs was amazing and the responsiveness of the designers was impressive. I would definitely use 99designs again and recommend it to colleagues and friends. As for Aliss_tz design, as I told her, she perfectly captured our mission and essence, we love her design!

Making Miles is a blog in the travel hacking world focused on teaching people how to use credit card miles+points to travel the world for free.
Right now the space is dominated by bloggers in their 40's and 50's, many of whom have boring content and cookie-cutter logos (see the "other" section below). A lot of blue, a lot of airplanes, a lot of blah. I'm hoping to breathe some new life into the space with a focus on the college-aged/twenty-something demographic.

I would like to see designs with orange as basically the only color, with greys/whites/blacks taking care of the rest. Bonus points if you don't use an airplane.
My goal with the logo is to have something that works in both banner (website header, Facebook cover photo potentially) and square form (Twitter/Facebook/Instagram avatar, website favicon). Two examples of sites in the space that do this really well are http://www.thepointsguy.com and http://www.frugaltravelguy.com (their logos are also attached). In other words, something in the logo needs to be recognizable enough to stand on its own. I could blatantly rip them off and just stick a white airplane on an orange background for the square form, but I'm curious to see what you guys can come up with.
I'm fairly certain I'll be using a modified version of this theme for the site design, to give you an idea of rough idea of where the banner logo is going to live: http://themes.tielabs.com/jarida/
All the attachments in the "other" section are examples of what I DON'T want.
