selsandrew got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create wholesome farm scene for small mushroom farm

Great Basin Mycology is the parent company of "Great Basin Mushroom Connection". We sell agricultural supplies and services. Currently we sell soil and soil amendments to gardening stores. We plan to expand into gourmet mushroom cultivation and agricultural consultations. Our target customers are the gardener and garden store owner, but will quickly become anyone who buys mushrooms, grocery stores, and restaurants.
I am picturing something like a small farm scene with an antique John Deere tractor, chickens, pigs, mushrooms sprouting, etc. Look at the book cover of "Mycelium Running" by Paul Stamets. I like that type of scene, but a farm. Since I gave a lot of item examples ie; John Deere, pigs, chickens, mushrooms, etc. I am worried that might be too much going on and too complicated. I defer to your expertise of what will look good on packaging and business cards. I am totally open to any ideas and you do not have to make something similar to the book cover I described. Mycology is "the study of fungi". Fungal mycelium looks similar to plant roots coarsing through the soil and latching on to nutrients. If possible I would like fungal mycelia coarsing through or around most of the logo, or letters. Looking at the book cover of Mycelium Running you can see this effect under the soil. Great Basin Mycology is located at the foothills of Slide Mountain (Nevada) and I would like a rendering of Slide Mountain in the logo. There is a good pic on Wiki from the "east side of the lake". If everything is too much.........key components are slide mountain, green trees, and strands of fungal mycelium. Thank You!
