We are merging two brands into one. We will keep the name from the old brand: http://www.playalastortugas.com. But transitioning to the website elements/look/feel/photos of the newer: http://www.tortugasvillas.com (just changing the name to reflect). So: "Playa Las Tortugas" - but on a fresh, up to date website.
Some merging of the two logos, or the two styles is likely what we're after. The existing Playa Las Tortugas logo will still exist in some areas, so we're likely looking to bias in that direction a bit more. The PLT logo is a bit too busy, but it might not be all too far off. We like the more modern, light simple feel of the Tortugas Villas logo, but are thinking something with the original Turtle may be necessary. I think the winner will find a way to blend the old with the new in a clean, simple way.
Our setting is a secluded, empty 10 mile beach in a very remote, secluded, unknown location in Mexico(A 30 second look at the setting found here:http://bit.ly/16EX7Mi). Our community has a turtle camp on site that is a draw for families from November - February (Playa Las Tortugas is: "Turtle Beach" in spanish). The old brand used the attached turtle logo. I'm guessing there may be some advantage to keeping some element of turtle involved moving forward though I'm open to the palm or other options as well.
In case it matters: The look and feel (big, bright, saturated, tropical villa photos) from the http://www.tortugasvillas.com website will be maintained. However, we may be transitioning to a bit of a less "wordpress-y" site, and to something a bit flatter and simpler like this: http://www.location-marrakech.info/?lang=en - In case that plays into your design considerations.
As a second aside: We have quite a bit of additional print material to re-brand as well, so potentially looking for somebody that might be interested in quite a bit of additional work.
I've attached copies of the two existing logos in use. Again, some mesh of these would probably work, but open to new options/ideas as well.
We're very open to questions, so please don't hesitate to ask away. Thanks! Eli
