Medical & Pharmaceutical
We are a small publishing organization and are looking for a 6 x 9 inch book cover. The book is an extensive review on marijuana and its positive and negative effects on the brain. The book is written by a U.S. psychiatrist with extensive clinical work in the field. Our readers will vary widely from clinicians, policy makers, marijuana users, family members etc.
What's your vision?
innerQuest books is neutral on the debate of whether to legalize marijuana. The book for which we are designing this cover, however, is clearly against full legalization (but is for decriminalization). Regardless of what side of the debate you are on, getting accurate information out to both sides furthers awareness and assists the debate. Help us design a cover that grabs attention and deepens this very important discussion. We encourage creativity in the cover design. While you may choose to use the traditional Marijuana leaf in the cover, we are also hoping to find something more creative. We want to be edgy and grab attention, yet it is also a medically oriented review and should somehow feel classy and respectful as well.
Trim size (dimension of the front cover) is 6 x 9 inches. Please have the Title and Author on the front and the rest of the info on the back. Please include on the back cover the description, blurbs, author bio, author photo (color or B&W), 2 websites, and a version of the iQ logo (all provided in the uploaded files). Other Technical Details: While not absolute, we request designer use Photoshop when possible. We will eventually need 2 slightly different versions for the cover if your design is chosen: one paperback and one dust-jacket (hard cover). We’ll then need 4 files – 2 final print- ready PDF’s (paperback and hard cover), and the two Photoshop files they were made from. We ask designers to be available for brief corrections to the files if needed. Yet both countries are moving toward legalization because so many of us have heard only the pro-marijuana side. This book presents the case against marijuana on an equal footing including: • The scientific research refuting all the pro-marijuana talking points • Why marijuana is not safe for adolescents or behind the wheel • Why legalization would be an economic burden on society and the promise of tax revenue a mirage • How to spot the misleading language used by pro-legalization partisans • How the news media helped to create an epidemic of teenage use • Why de facto decriminalization is better than legalization • Why marijuana laws that prohibit use are good for the public health www.innerQuestBooks.com www.ChironPublications.com “Dr. Gogek has a unique ability to master the complex and hotly contested material to make it understandable. His book has a strong message that our nation, including both Left and Right, needs today when most discussions of drug policy are filled with dangerous misinformation.” Robert L.
