What I'm looking for:
On the cover of the first edition of this book, as you will see in the links above, we featured a picture of me (Julie Perry, the author). In this 2nd edition release, I would like the cover design to focus more on the job itself, and the experiences one can have working aboard a yacht as a crewmember -- and specifically as a yacht stewardess.
Capturing the lifestyle of living and working aboard a luxury megayacht as yacht crew is essential. The yachts I discuss in this book are 80-feet and up (up to 300 feet)... Most megayachts that require crew to run them are around 150 to 300 feet (a half of a football field and up)...
I am including images that can be used. I'd like to include almost a scrapbook-like collage of images -- some of the yachts themselves, some of the destinations traveled, and most of them showing crew both at work and play. The yacht stewardesses (interior crew) should be central, but showing the entire crew is also useful to show the crew family one gets to travel and work with onboard.
A yacht steward/esses duties runs the gamut, but mainly they are responsible for serving the guests, housekeeping and cleaning (making beds, doing laundry, etc), and planning activities. Yacht stews can be men or women. A good job description can be found here: http://www.workonayacht.com/index.p…scription/
Whatever images are used, I feel it's important for the cover to give this feeling: "this job is about working hard, traveling far, and also about being a part of a team...a family"...and perhaps, if we can, visually showing what stews do (cleaning, serving, doing laundry, etc -- maybe show a feather duster, iron, and service tray, etc)...
This is a posh industry where yacht crew work for the richest people on the planet, many of them billionaires. They travel all over Europe and Caribbean, as well as the Bahamas, New England, the South Pacific, etc.
If you need more background on the audience this book is intended for, and how this job differs from cruise ship jobs (totally different in numerous ways), you can watch these two quick videos here:
I can also get you access to any images you see here:
If you find others you feel you need, I am willing to consider buying them from photo sites.
Dropbox images you can use:
Again, here is what words are needed (instructions in parentheses):
